INT WORKSHOP DAY 1

Lights flicker on revealing a messy workbench covered in
boxes, tape and other packaging items. A person, Sam walks
in. They turn on a radio, Christmas music plays. Sam is busy
moving boxes about, cutting open some boxes and taping
others up.

A phone rings, Sam reaches into a pocket and pulls out a
phone.

SAM
          

Yes, yes it’s fine.

PHONE VOICE (MUFFLED)

SAM
         

I’ll get it sorted, I’ll make sure

it’s packed and sent today.
                    

PHONE VOICE (MUFFLED)

SAM
          

Ok, ok, thanks

Sam gets back to unpacking boxes, there is a mass of bubble
wrap and items. The phone rings again. Sam answers and puts
it between shoulder and ear to speak.

HI

SAM’S MUM (MUFFLED)

Sam continues to try to open boxes. A stanley knife blade
goes into tape to open a box. It runs along the length of
the box. Christmas music continues to play from the radio.

 SAM(URGENTLY)
          

Mum, that’s great. It is, but...

SAM’S MUM (MUFFLED)

Sams finger is over the tape, the knife is being dragged
toward it.Christmas music continues to play from the radio.

SAM
          

No,(pause) No, I would love to

chat. It’s just I am very busy. I         

need to...

The knife runs over Sam’s finger causing a deep
cut. Christmas music continues to play from the radio.
