Special Effects VS Visual Effects
Visual Effects:
VFX - Visual Effects are the effects that are added to a shot via a software/tool. In essence it is computer generated during post production. It is the actual integration of live action and CGI.
Special Effects:
SFX - Special Effects are made physically during shooting/production with a camera. Like extensive make up, prosthetic limbs or cables to make people fly/jump.
Similarities:
These two types of affects can be used together, like shooting a SFX piece of footage and composite it using VFX. Using VFX is often much cheaper than SFX so often explosions, spurting blood and muzzle-flashes are done as VFX.
Cinematographer
A Cinematographer is the chief over the camera and light crews working on the film. They are the ones responsible for making the artistic and technical decisions related to the image.
I think that this role is perfect for me as I have a very visual perspective when it comes to making films. I am very well researched in the photography of film and I would commit myself to the role.
Director
A film Director controls a film's artistic and dramatic aspects and visualises the screenplay while guiding the technical crew and actors in the fulfilment of that vision.
Personally I believe that I am very well suited for the role of Director. I can successfully produce the vision of the film and will make sure everyones role is done correctly.
Producer
A Producer plans and co-ordinates various aspects of the film production such as selecting the script, co ordinating writing, directing, editing and financing.
I know I would be very well suited for this role. I am a very organised person and would be able to make sure that things get done on time. I also have a decent basic knowledge of the factors that go into making a film.
